Sport is the best hobby a child could have.

Sport is the best hobby a child could have. Most people would agree that sport is very important to people's lives, but there are lots of other thing to consider.

To start with sports can be expensive (e.g club fees, uniforms), everyone knows that professional adult players earn heaps of money that would make up for it. If there's lot of kids in your family it's hard for your parents to pay the fees. If you continue your sports until your an adult you could get a good sport job like being an all black player and a black fern.

In my opinion, sports is the best hobby because it's good for your body, but the fact is you should have another hobby like gaming in case you retire from sports. Sometimes your hobby is your job but it's good to have other hobbies like being a gamer and being really good at puzzles. If you retire from being a sport player you could make your other hobby your job.

It would be beneficial if all kids played sports because it good for your develop and you could leave your screen timeout.

Sentence starters for persuasive writting

Every Kid should learn how to swim?

I believe that every kid should learn how to swim(agreeing).

My first reason is as they grow up having kids and one day they will be having a joyful swim around but suddenly their kid got too far to the sea and started to drown and what do you do? (thinking)what?.

Not knowing what to do because you can’t swim the reason why you never had learned a lesson how to swim, what would happen to you child?!.

To start with, most people will agree that kids should learn to swim while there young.

In my opinion kids should have the chance to swim and they should learn how to swim in a deep pool.

If the kid learn how to swim in a baby pool they will pretend to swim but the thing is that they were actually touching the ground.

I’m absolutely certain that every child in NZ should learn to swim. It is important to acknowledge that paying for swimming lessons can be very expensive, especially if there are more than 1 kid in each family. In light of this, the NZ school system requires students to learn to swim and this is usually free.

It would be worthwhile if every kid should join a swimming lesson so they can learn how to swim

Kids should get free time at school everyday?

I disagree that kids should get freetime every day. My first reason is  if they have free time everyday because the kids get bored and have nothing else to do they just have anything in their little brains with something smart just video games and to much eye looking at the netbook playing just games.

In my opinion they should be only playing games and having free time because when they get to collage they will do anything is act dumb because of nothing that they had learn all they had learn is how to play a game that through these year no learner that means they have to start the whole year again of not knowing what to or just staying in one class for a bit.

But on the other hand people or kids will agree just because they are sick of learning they all just want to is play games and parents well some won’t even care just mind what they are doing.

Editing a story

Here is our edited story.
Things we learnt about were
We aren’t allowed to use then, and, also and because at the beginning of a sentence.
Speech marks go on the OUTSIDE of the full stop or other punctuation.
The end of a sentence can be marked by a full stop, an exclamation mark or a question mark. You don’t need to put an extra full stop after a question mark.
Remember to check ALL capital letters. Sometimes we need to put them in and sometimes we need to take them out.
On Monday 24th September 2018 Room 7 did a blindfold challenge. We wanted to have fun and make our morning a bit interesting by playing a game.

Firstly Miss Ashley told us the rules which was “no touching the tables or pieces of paper on the floor or you will lose points.“  However you are allowed to touch the chairs because you sometimes have to step over them to get to the end. Next we got into buddies. My buddy was Lucina.  We had to line up by the heater in our buddies.

First it was my turn to go so Lucina (my buddy)  put the blindfold on me (over my eyes) and helped me to stand up. The blindfold was tight it felt like a constrictor boa on my face. I felt so confused and disorientated because the blindfold was covering my eyes. Lucina told me to “go left, right, straight and step over.” I was feeling nervous and a little bit scared because “what if she was tricking me?“ and I was really doing something silly. I got to the end safely and took my blindfold off.

Next it was my buddies turn so I helped her put the blindfold on. I told her to walk straight first, then next turn left. She doesn’t know her lefts and rights so she went the wrong way.I said “no your other left” and it was a little bit funny. In the end we got to the blue fruit tray and we made it without losing any points!

I think I would like to do this activity again because it was cool to do something different and fun in class especially since it’s the end of the term and I think we are all feeling kind of tired.

Create Volcano Speech

A volcano is a mountain with a hole where lava comes from. Parts of the volcano is lava, throat, molten magma, secondary vent, ash cloud and vent.

When a volcano is active, materials  come out of it. The materials include lava, steam, ash and broken rock pieces.

Vulcan is a man that is a  Roman God of Fire and when he gets angry most of the volcanoes erupt. That’s where the word volcano comes from.

There are 1,500 active volcanoes in the world. Most of these volcanoes is around the ring of fire. There are 452 volcanoes in the Ring of Fire. 75% of the Earth’s volcanoes + 90% of the Earth’s earthquakes happen here.

Volcanoes form when magma from the outer core pushes through the crust of the Earth. Once the magma is out of the crust it is called lava. A ash cloud forms when the volcano erupts and smoke rising up which is the ash cloud.

There are three different kinds of volcanoes. They are dormant, active and extinct. Dormant means they have erupted in the past but are sleeping at the moment so won’t erupt. Active volcanoes can erupt soon. Extinct volcanoes erupt a long time ago and won’t erupt again.
These are the rocks from the volcano that erupted

Natural Disasters

Information report: natural disasters

Natural disasters are a phenomenon which occur all around the world. Some are caused by moving tectonic plates, some are caused by wind and air pressure, and some are caused by other natural disasters.

Volcanic Eruptions
Volcanoes are made out of magma that forms a volcano. It also forms lava and ash clouds. It has liquor and gas which forms lava. Vulcan is a roman God of fire. When he is angry the volcanoes erupt. Volcanoes are around a ring of fire.

Earthquakes are when the ground suddenly shakes from the ground like when christchurch get them because it is in the ring of fire.

Hurricanes, typhoons and cyclones re the same thing. But happened differently and different country's call these stuff America calls it Hurricane And New Zealand people call it Cyclones and Asia calls it Typhoon. Today there is a hurricane is happening in north carolina and south carolina it is big i’m just guessing.

Tsunamis
A tsunami is a very dangerous natural disaster and is made by tectonic plates and oceanic plates clyding. The oceanic plates goes down and the continental plates goes up and the continental plates goes up and pushes the water to create a
Tsunami.

Tornadoes -
have cold dry air and warm dry air and the cold air is up the top of the tornadoes and then that means hot dry air goes and the bottom. Tornadoes are like dangerous thunderstorms and tornadoes are over land and if it was in the water it will be called a waterspouts. Tornadoes go short distance by it is fast.

Floods -
and drought flood has heavy rainfalls and it is low lying and it is really low and not high but sometimes it can carry house light ones and the house could crash into the trees and it can breck apart. When you are not close to the flood you will have time to get ready for themself and help their house to been strong but when you are really close you won and you have no time to help yourself but you make yourself have time but your house will not be strong to keep still. Droughts are when it is really dry like deserts and it has no water or plants and house will be gone and people will not be alive living in a drought.

Blizzards -
Blizzard is when snow is falling from the sky. Blizzard are different to ground blizzard because blizzard have snow coming from the sky and the ground snow comes on the ground and grows and grows making the snow go everywhere. When there are blizzard you start to get frostbite and when you get that your fingertips and ears and on your tip of your nose freeze because they're far away from the heart. The three hyperthermia are shivering, blue nails and pale skin, you need a bottle of water to breathe and you can go to the shop to get one.

Dust storm -
a dust storm is when strong wind blow loose and sand and dirt from dry surface and if you didn't know that the wind picks up the dirt and places it somewhere else and just sits there. Earth's dust storm is stronger than Mars because we have stronger wind and a dust storm starts by crust of winds. The dust storm last 1 hour or 2 hours .

Wildfire -
is when the forest is on fire. The nine type of wildfire is wildfire, bushfire, desert fire, forest fire, grass fire, hill fire, peat fire, vegetation fire and veld fire. There is a negative impacts of the wildfire and that is the trees burn down and there would not be any oxygen but that is good is that when the trees rot it makes the soil richer and stronger and makes new species like animals and plants. The wildfire can be caused by man - made that is when people caused like when they use smoke,90%,arson and out of control fire.

Man-made and natural disasters can devastate people and the places we live in. Although we can’t predict most natural disasters, we can do our best to keep safe and look after our properties and things we value.

The tsunami is a really big wave that people gets crashed from that they try to have time to evacuate from their country and migrate that's how most people gets safe or they straight run to the big hills.

Before people evacuate to have time in the past they  would eat other different kinds of food to survive by living near ocean so that they could find more sead food to cook , in the future people evacuate from the tsunami instead of living near the ocean go to build houses in big hills so that can be safe in their houses.

HOW TO USE DIALOG IN OUR WRITTING

Focuses for writing this week
Explanation in my own words.
Where do speech marks go
Before and after the sentence the person said.
How to put in other punctuation
Any punctuation has to go before the speech mark.
When to start a new line or when to keep writing
When 2 or 3 people are talking.
Different words for ‘said’
Asked, replied, responded, yelled, screamed, shouted, mumbled, said, muttered, gasped, panting, chuckled, thought, told, uttered, continued, whispered
Adding adverbs
Responded politely, asked politely, screamed angrily.

EXAMPLES
“Who can I pick on?” asked Miss Ashley.
“Me” replied Timote.

“How was your day?” asked Hope.
“Great, thank you” replied Miss Ashley.

“How was your weekend” asked Dwyane.
“It was good” responded Havea.

If more than one person is talking, you put the reply underneath.
Mary was a beautiful girl who was wearing her long black hair in two plaits. She asked her mum, “can I go to the pools today?”.
“Why do you want to go” mum replied.
“It’s hot and I want to cool off”.
“Fine then”

If it’s only one person, you keep going.

Title
Fire in the house
Introduction
One sunny beautiful Saturday Craig was playing Fornite with his friend Jack. They had been playing all day long.
Orientation
Craig was a 8 year old boy with blonde, curly hair and chocolate brown eyes. He was wearing his favourite turquoise Fornite shirt and seafoam pants. Jack was 9 and had jet black hair and bright blue eyes. The two boys were playing Fornite in the lounge at Craig’s house. The lounge looked like a pigs sty, with stinky socks, pizza boxes and mountain dew cans everywhere.
Problem
Craig was sooo engrossed in his game. He leapt out of the bus, pressed X and landed on one of the houses. Craigs thumbs and fingers were starting to ache from playing for sooo long without a break. Jack thought a glass of water might wake him up, so he went to get his friend a cool glass of icy water. He was just strolling back into the messy lounge, when he heard Craig scream “OHHH YEAH HEADSHOT!”. It gave Jack such a fright that he dropped the glass of water, and “Oh no!” he screamed, it tipped straight onto the electrical plug. Craig sniffs “sniff sniff”, “I can smell smoke, is the oven on?”. Jack yells “THERE’S A FIRE, HELP!”. Craig finally looks up from his game to see that the PS4 caught on fire! Craig thought to himself “Dang it, I was about to win!”. The two boys rushed outside leaving all their valuables behind.
Solution
Jack ran to the neighbours house and asked to borrow Lucy’s phone. “HELP HELP OUR HOUSE IS ON FIRE!”. Craig could hear the sirens of the fire engines getting closer and closer. Jack and Craig tried to comfort each other, but they were panicking so much and couldn’t hear each other over the sirens and blaring smoke alarms. The firetrucks arrived and extinguish the flames in 1 long hour.
Conclusion
The two boys felt depressed. Their game was over, and they didn’t win. And now… their house was destroyed.

Night light

On Monday I have read a book with my reading group called bright sparks. We read the book called Night light. This is the Google drawing I have done for the facts about the moon

Describing a picture

The Full moon

The full moon The full moon is in the violet blue sky with all the stars shine bright down to the cold freezing river as it reflect upon. The full moon is a white bright moon just like some peoples white teeth. The full moon is the last one to happen in the night time.Full moon is a enormous large circle of grey hard iron. The full moon is like the light in your room but just whiter, brighter and lighter. The full moons bright light is shiny through the blue cold freezing water in the river. The trees are full with dead green leaves as it float down to the violet river as it’s waves swishing through the soil upon the grass. The Clouds are Long and bright Like some of the white Candy floss. Some Clouds Can be Short and long some can be Fluffy and Bright. Most Clouds can be large and some clouds can look Like other stuff like a cat or a dog . If you look in the sky you will see the Clouds moving because the wind is blowing it. The trees are swishing and swaying around and around the sand is kind of blowing away and into the sea and some of the branches are breaking in half and are going on the ground it will go in the sea and be careful.
